1. The guitar is the most expressive instrument, you can play the lead, rhythm, background music, bass parts and even be percussive.

2.Guitars are easily mastered, you dun need a degree in nuclear fission to be able to play it well. no need for musical grades and sight-reading, there are only six strings and three basic chords(c, d, g i guess) will take u a long way...

3. Nobody is ever going to hold a poll of great piano solos or speak of "keyboard heroes", yet when it comes to guitars, so many names pop up jimi hendrix, david gilmour, slash, eric clapton i could go on till tomorrow(heck santana won a grammy without even singing!)

4. As guns n' roses guitarist slash puts it "pianos and violins don't have the abrasive attack that an eletric guitar has. you can do a solo on a flute, you'll hear all the notes but you won't get that feeling that you've just been punched in the chest and your heart ripped out."
