there's something different bout barcelona's shirt this season,no i'm not reffering to the bright orange colour(at least it looks better than last years fluorescent away jersey) for the first time in it's history barcelona has a emblem on it's shirt other than the club logo and sports sponsor.
Before this barcelona had the honour as being the only club without a shirt sponsor in major leauges, and ppl may be thinking how much was paid to make them finally agree to have another logo on their shirt. well the answer is ntg, in fact it's barcelona that's giving them money!
ok u might start going huh?!! but that's the truth, in reversal of usual form, in which the highest bidder buys the space on the shirt to advertise, barca has agreed to pay UNICEF, the united nations children charity an annual fee of of between 1 to 2 million as well as displaying the UNICEF emblem on their shirt for 5 years.
as opposed to teams such as chelsea and mu which has shirt sponsors who pay them up to almost 100 million dollars, barcelona has shown there is another side to football then just money
as barcelona's president Joan Laporta put's it,"Barca is proud to donate our shirt to the children of the world, they are our future."
